Tips from Vets and Trainers
On hot days when your dog is warm, don’t give him freezing cold water or ice cubes if he drinks or eats them fast. The difference between the hot body and cold liquid when taken in fast, can cause the body to go into shock. Cold is fine, slow is fine.
To cool down your dog, start with normal water and a cooling mat or a wet towel to tap his fur with. Once cooled down, you can give your dog ice cubes or dog ice lollies.
Ball playing at the beach can be dangerous for your dog. Ball playing isn’t the best game for most dogs anyway, but especially bad at the beach. Inhaling it can cause pneumonia. In the stomach it can cause blockages or other gastro issues.
